Hello girls, please meet Ms. Manka Nadine. She is a Cameroonian living in Canada. I first met Ms. Nadine when she resumed work as an accountant at the auditing firm I work at. Nadine is hard to ignore…for one, her beauty and optimism lights up a room plus she just doesn’t leave me alone. lol. That is a story for another day.
Regardless of how pretty that face of hers might be, she is resilient, hardworking and exemplifies strength in femininity despite the odds. Enjoy getting to know her as I have!
On preserving through life’s disappointments:
One thing that has helped me the most is my faith in God. There’s something about been a genuine good person and believing in God. As a woman, I am extremely focused and goal oriented. I am MOTIVATED by my accomplishments thus far that no matter how broken I am at any point in time, I just never stop moving towards my goal. I’ll drive and cry behind the wheel but I keep GOING. I will go for days without food when extremely disappointed but I keep GOING. I may get to work and busy myself with a task while tears flow down my cheeks but I keep WORKING. I might be overly emotional but it has never outweighed my drive, desire and passion to achieve, accomplish and become great.
Encouragement to others girls like Fifi:
I never think of myself as better than anyone else. The only person I ever want to be better than is the person I was 30 minutes back. I often look at my ambitions and I get scared. I panic that I don’t have what it takes to get there but in every step towards my goals, God has surprised me exceedingly. The Bible says and I paraphrase “it is not the swift or the fast but time and chance happeneth to them all”. To all the girls out there, I say: work as though it depends on YOU and pray as though it all depends on GOD.
Keep being strong, Nadine. I stand with you in GOING and WORKING. In the words of Ayn Rand “The question isn’t who is going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me”.
